By accessing or using Kencang (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Description of Service

Kencang provides a free internet speed testing tool that measures download speed, upload speed, and latency. The Service is provided "as is" for informational purposes.

3. Use of the Service

Permitted Use

You may use Kencang to:

  • Test your personal internet connection speed
  • Compare your speed results with advertised speeds
  • Share your results for personal, non-commercial purposes

Prohibited Use

You may not:

  • Use automated tools to run excessive speed tests (abuse)
  • Attempt to manipulate or falsify test results
  • Interfere with the Service's infrastructure or other users
  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Commercially redistribute or resell access to the Service
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
  • Scrape or harvest data from the Service without permission

4. Accuracy Disclaimer

Speed test results are measurements at a specific point in time and may be affected by many factors including network congestion, server load, your hardware, and other variables.

Kencang does not guarantee that test results accurately reflect your ISP-provided speeds. Results should be considered estimates and may vary. Do not rely solely on Kencang results for contractual disputes with your ISP.

5. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and content, is owned by Kencang and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without permission.

"Kencang" and associated logos are trademarks. You may not use them without written permission.

6. Third-Party Services

Kencang uses M-Lab (Measurement Lab) servers for speed testing. Your use of the Service is also subject to M-Lab's terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Results will be accurate or reliable
  • Defects will be corrected
  • The Service is free of viruses or harmful components

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SPEED.IS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the Service (which is $0 for the free service).

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kencang and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

13. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Kencang regarding the Service.
