Silknet Speed Test FAQ

How fast is Silknet internet?

Silknet fiber optic internet offers speeds from 20 Mbps to 100 Mbps depending on your plan. In July 2024, Silknet upgraded speeds under four of its tariffs while keeping subscription rates unchanged, giving customers faster connections at no additional cost. The Speed Booster add-on allows customers to add 20 Mbps to any plan (except the 100 Mbps plan) for just GEL 4 per month. Actual speeds depend on your router, the number of connected devices, and whether you connect via Ethernet or Wi-Fi.

What is SILK+ bundle?

SILK+ is Silknet's bundled package that combines fiber optic internet with IPTV television service. The bundle offers up to 202 TV channels, allowing customers to choose from different channel packages ranging from 70 to 202 channels. With the 100 Mbps internet plan, adding the full 202-channel TV package costs approximately GEL 20 per month extra. SILK+ subscribers also get access to mobile number integration, enabling a complete home and mobile connectivity solution under one bill.

How do I test my Silknet speed?

Use the speed test tool on this page to measure your Silknet download speed, upload speed, and ping latency. For accurate fiber optic results, connect your computer directly to the Silknet Wi-Fi modem using an Ethernet cable. Close all background applications, streaming services, and disconnect other devices from the network before testing. If your speeds are consistently below your plan rate, try restarting your modem and router. The test takes about 30 seconds to complete.

Is Silknet available outside Tbilisi?

Silknet's fiber optic internet is available in the 10 largest cities in Georgia, including Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Rustavi, Zugdidi, and Gori. The company continues to expand fiber coverage into additional areas, with 73% of recent FTTH net additions attributed to Silknet. In areas without fiber coverage, Silknet's Geocell mobile network provides 4G LTE internet as an alternative. Check availability at your specific address on the Silknet website at silknet.com or by visiting a Silknet service center.
