WE Speed Test FAQ
How fast is WE internet in Egypt?
WE internet speeds range from 30 Mbps on ADSL to 200 Mbps on fibre depending on your plan and connection type. The fixed broadband median speed in Egypt reached 76.7 Mbps by early 2025. ADSL speeds are limited by distance from the telephone exchange. VDSL offers faster speeds up to 100 Mbps over shorter copper distances. FTTH fibre delivers the most consistent speeds up to 200 Mbps. Run a speed test to check your actual WE connection speed.
How do I test my WE speed?
Use the speed test tool on this page to measure your WE download speed, upload speed, and ping latency. For the most accurate results, connect your device directly to the modem or router using an ethernet cable. Close all background applications and streaming services before running the test. The test takes approximately 30 seconds to complete. Compare your results against your subscribed plan speed and data allowance tier to check performance.
Does WE offer fibre internet in Egypt?
Yes, WE offers fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) internet in areas where fibre infrastructure has been deployed. WE Space packages provide fibre speeds up to 200 Mbps. Fibre availability depends on your specific address and whether Telecom Egypt has installed FTTH infrastructure in your area. Where fibre is not available, WE provides VDSL or ADSL as alternatives. FTTH fibre delivers faster, more consistent speeds than copper-based DSL connections.
Are WE internet plans unlimited?
WE internet plans in Egypt have data allowances rather than unlimited data. Plans range from 140 GB per month on the entry-level Mega plan to 1 TB per month on the premium Space plan. After exceeding your data allowance, speeds may be reduced or additional data charges may apply. Higher-tier plans with larger data allowances include the 600 GB plan at EGP 650 per month. Customers can purchase additional data if they exceed their monthly allowance.
